EONS appoints new Chief Operating Officer
A return to the cancer community
We are delighted to announce that Emma Woodford has been appointed as the new EONS Chief Operating Officer (COO) to help take the charity forward.
Emma is an experienced senior advocate and programme manager with more than 20 years’ experience in the charity/NGO sector. Early in her career, Emma worked on community development projects in Vietnam and Thailand and then moved to Brussels where she became a health advocate at the Association of European Cancer Leagues (ECL). There she worked with cancer nurses, prevention managers and oncologists on a number of projects, including facilitating the MEPS Against Cancer group in the European Parliament. After ECL, she went on to be Interim Secretary General of the European Public Health Alliance. She later worked as an EU Senior Advisor for the International Diabetes Federation for Europe.
Of her appointment to her new EONS role, Emma said: “I am very much looking forward to returning to the cancer community as the new COO for EONS, and to working with the EONS Board, team and members to increase our influence in cancer policy making; protecting the employment rights of cancer nurses and highlighting the wonderful and important work that cancer nurses do.”
Emma can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org. Working days will be Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
EONS received many high quality applications for the position and would like to thank all those who applied for their interest.
