PatientPartner is a 3-year EU FP7 (Seventh Framework Programme) project investigating, enforcing and advising on the role of patient organisations in clinical trials.

European Research Project EURO IMPACT: “European Intersectorial and Multi-disciplinary Palliative Care Research Training”
EURO IMPACT aims to develop a multi-disciplinary, multi-professional and intersectorial educational and research training framework in Europe, aimed at monitoring and improving the quality of palliative care in Europe. The consortium of EURO IMPACT involves 10 partners from 6 European countries, representing a number of disciplines and professions, and will train 12 early stage researchers in scientific and complementary skills.

ORPHANET project
The ORPHANET project, funded by the EC, set up a EU reference portal for information on rare diseases and orphan drugs. Patients and practitioners can access a directory of specific services, including specialist clinics, medical laboratories, ongoing research projects, clinical trials, registries, networks, technological platforms and patient organisations.
Rare Cancers Europe
Rare Cancers Europe (RCE) has been established as a partnership of cooperating organisations that work together to place the issue of rare cancers firmly on the European policy agenda, to identify and promote appropriate solutions and to exchange best practice. EONS is a partner on the Rare Cancers project.
EPAAC
The European Partnership for Action Against Cancer (EPAAC) was launched in 2009. The Partnership brings together the efforts of different stakeholders into a joint response to prevent and control cancer. In its initial phase, until early 2014, the work of the Partnership will be taken forward through a Joint Action (co-financed by the EU Health Programme). The National Institute of Public Health in Slovenia has assumed the role of leader of the EPAAC Joint Action, which encompasses 38 associated partners from across Europe and over 90 collaborating partners. EONS is a partner on the EPAAC project.
