Clinical travel grant 2011

The Clinical travel grant was launched by EONS in 2009 to support nurses who are working in oncology to obtain clinical experience by visiting another cancer centre/unit.

The EONS Clinical travel grant is awarded towards costs incurred (clinical site fee, travel, accommodation and expenses) by the successful applicant during the clinical site visit. The applicant is responsible for organising their clinical site visit. The clinical site visit must be a minimum of one week in duration.

Clinical travel grant 2011

The European Oncology Nursing Society is pleased to announce that Katja Rasch is the recipient of the Clinical Travel Grant 2011. Katja is an oncology nurse and research nurse (study coordinator) in the field of neurooncology at the Departement of Neurology, University of Bonn (Germany). She will do a 3 weeks visit to the BC Cancer Agency, Vancouver Centre, Canada.

2010

Mette Amundsen, leading oncology nurse at the Vestfold County Hospital Breast Center, Tønsberg, Norway and Sevcan Atay, patient education nurse at the Hacetteppe universitesi Onkoloji Hastanesi, Ankara, Turkey Mette did a two week visit at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Breast Service, Department of Surgery, New York, USA. Sevcan did a 4 week visit to the University Hospital of Birmingham, UK. Both will report their learning experience at the EONS General meeting during the European Multidisciplinary Cancer Congress in Stockholm, on Sunday 25 September from 11.15 to 12.45 (Hall T2). Mette also reported about her site visit in the EONS Magazine Spring 2011 issue and Sevcan reported about her experience in the EONS Magazine Summer 2011 issue.

2009

Alessandri Milani, Research Nurse at the Patient Care Service, Institute of Oncology, Milan, Italy Alessandra did a three weeks visit at the Trento’s Teaching Hospital, dep. Oncology, Italy and reported about her site visit in the EONS Newsletter Autumn 2010 issue “An Experience of a Life Time”. She also presented her learning experience during the EONS General Meeting at the EONS 7 Spring Convention, The Hague, The Netherlands, 16 April 2010, which is included in the presentation of this meeting. . >>  Download presentation
