Purpose and description
The Distinguished Merit Award is presented in recognition of an outstanding contribution to the advancement of the art and science of cancer nursing within Europe. This includes, but is not limited to, advancements made in the areas of practice, research and/or education. In addition to this, the successful individual may well be someone who has contributed to strengthening or enhancing the profession of cancer nursing through community work or political/lobbying activities.
The Award is granted every two years and presented at the European Cancer Conference (ECCO).
The next conference will be held in Stockholm from 23-27 September 2011.
