Major Research Grant

About the Grant

Lena Sharp receiving her award

The EONS Major Research Grant has been established to enable a European oncology nurse researcher qualified to at least Masters Degree level, to undertake a substantial research project which will have an impact on practice in at least one European country. The aims of the project should fit with the research priorities of the European Oncology Nursing Society (see EONS website for Research Priorities). The total grant of 30,000 Euros is for a two year project. One free registration for the researcher to attend ECCO or EONS Spring Convention will also be part of the award.

2011

The call for submissions for the EONS Major Research Grant 2011 has now closed and we are happy to inform our membership that the EONS Major Research Grant Reviewers agreed that Mrs. Eunice Jeffs from the Lymphoedema Clinic, Guys Hospital, London, UK should be the recipient of the Major Research Grant 2011 with her project proposal “Patient Perception of treatment benefit and success in self-management of breast cancer related arm lymphoedema (BCRL)”.

The reviewers agreed this project was addressing an important issue which is likely to yield useful information about the perceptions of patients.

EONS congratulates Eunice and wishes her success with her future nursing research.

For reference, the call for applications and the guidelines for the Major Research Grant 2011 are available under the Further Information section of this page.
