Oncology Nurses Have High Awareness of Risk for Fungal Infections

Invasive fungal infections are a leading cause of mortality and morbidity in immunocompromised patients. According to the results of a recent survey, a large proportion of oncology nurses are knowledgeable about the risk for fungal infections in this population and the precautions that need to be taken to prevent and/or minimize that risk. However, the survey also showed that there are important gaps in that knowledge.
