"Killer" T-cells shrink advanced melanoma in Phase 1 trial

US scientists have reported the results of a highly experimental therapy in which white blood cells are "trained" to "memorise" cancer-causing cells, then injected back into the body to kill those cells.In the Phase 1 trial, this method had no effect on most of the patients. However, one patient's advanced melanoma shrank and now cannot be seen on scans. Read more
