Tobacco avoidance is not the only way to lower cancer risk

A 14-year study shows that closely following the American Cancer Society (ACS) guidelines on cancer prevention leads to lower mortality from cancer, even among non-smokers. The study, published in Cancer Biomarkers, Epidemiology, and Prevention, suggests that while smoking is important, clinicians should also ask about other lifestyle issues such as diet when assessing a patient.
