Half of mastectomy patients do not receive radiotherapy

According to a study recently published in American journal Cancer, roughly half of patients with high-risk breast cancer do not receive radiation therapy after mastectomy. The authors of the study point out that though radiotherapy is contra-indicated in some patients, this does not account for the fact that many women do not receive the recommended radiation.
