Australia passes plain packaging law on cigarettes

The Australian Senate has passed a law requiring all cigarettes to be sold in plain packaging, with no brand colours or logos. The olive-green packaging will feature smoking warnings but no branding or marketing whatsoever. The law is expected to come into force in December 2012.
