HPV vaccine effective against anal HPV infection

The human papilloma virus (HPV) is associated with an increased risk of anal cancer and anal lesions. Research now suggests that the HPV vaccine is efficacious in reducing the incidence of anal intraepithelial neoplasia, the type of lesion which typically precedes anal cancer.
