New oncology certification in US - will Europe follow?

The American Board of Surgery (ABS) has created a new certification for complex general surgical oncology. The intention is to encourage surgeons with an interest in cancer research. The first examinations are expected to happen in the autumn. The certification is only available to US surgeons, but raises the question: would something similar work in Europe?
