"Waste of time" wins Nobel prize

A man whose science teacher wrote him off as a "waste of time" who would never become a scientist has won a Nobel prize for research. John Gurdon from the UK shared the prize with Shinya Yamanaka from Japan. They were awarded the prize for finding a way of changing adult cells into stem cells.
