Diabetes means 27 percent increase in breast cancer risk

A large meta-analysis finds that diabetes is associated with a 27 percent increase in the risk of breast cancer. However, this only applies to post-menopausal patients with type 2 diabetes. Dr. Boyle of the International Prevention Research Institute in Lyon, France, said that more research is needed to account for the increased risk being confined to post-menopausal patients.
