Patients may misunderstand point of chemotherapy

Many patients with incurable cancer may not understand that their chemotherapy is unlikely to cure their cancer, according to a study published in the <cite>New England Journal of Medicine</cite>. The researchers said that if patients have unrealistic expectations of treatment, this affects their ability to make informed choices and the issue therefore needs to be addressed by healthcare providers.
