Dial 116 for telephone helplines
Added: Thursday 18 July 2013
The telephone prefix 116 has been reserved for helplines and the European Commission is in the process of assigning these numbers to service providers in all the member states. 116 000 is the helpline for missing children, 116 006 is the helpline for victims of crime and 116 123 is for emotional support. Helplines are already up and running in many countries. The actual services behind the helplines are provided by organisations within the relevant country.
