Petition to make scalp cooling UK standard
Added: Monday 9 September 2013
A campaign has been launched to make scalp cooling a standard part of chemotherapy treatment in the UK. Scalp cooling, also known as cold cap treatment, helps to reduce the risk of hair loss for patients undergoing chemotherapy. It is available in many UK hospitals but it is not considered a standard part of chemotherapy treatment. The campaign Cool Head Warm Heart has launched a petition to ask that all UK chemotherapy patients are given the option of scalp cooling. The campaign is linked to Paxman Coolers, a commercial manufacturer of scalp-cooling systems.
