Breast cancer on the rise globally
Added: Monday 24 February 2014
Statistics from the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) suggest that the global incidence of breast cancer is rising. Breast cancer incidence increased by more than 20% between 2008 and 2012. It is also the most common cause of cancer death among women. The IARC states that the increase is because of a shift towards lifestyles typical of industrialised countries. Incidence rates remain highest in industrialised countries but mortality is relatively much higher in poorer countries.
