EONS Board member writes about smoking communication

Added: Thursday 5 February 2015

Professor Mary Wells, EONS Board Secretary, has published an article about the importance of talking about smoking in the context of cancer. She was reporting on research from the Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Healthcare Professionals Research Unit (jointly hosted by Glasgow Caledonian University and the University of Stirling) which was funded by the Chief Scientist Office of NHS Scotland. The article, published on World Cancer Day, argues that healthcare professionals sometimes miss the opportunity to talk to patients about smoking, and this means that patients can miss out on the support they need to give up. Professor Wells is based at the School of Health Sciences, University of Stirling.
