Added: Tuesday 1 August 2017

Paul TrevattEONS is thrilled to announce that Executive Board Member Paul Trevatt, who is the co-chair of the Communication Working Group and one of Board leads for the European young cancer nurse programme, has been accepted to attend a transformational leadership programme facilitated by the International Council of Nurse’s (ICN) this autumn.

Paul said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for me to grow as a nurse leader and strengthen further my policy skills. It is also a great chance for me to share all EONS’ exciting recent projects and activities - from RECaN, to the European Young Cancer Nurse programme, to our first European Cancer Nursing Day on May 18 - with nurse leaders from across Europe and the rest of the world. I also welcome the opportunity to fly the flag for cancer nurses and cancer nursing more generally and ensure that cancer care is highlighted as a global healthcare priority.”

The new Global Nursing Policy Leadership Institute (GNPLI) will welcome around 30 carefully selected participants from all six World Health Organisation (WHO) regions in Geneva, Switzerland, on 8-15 September 2017. They will share their experiences and develop their expertise, facilitated by top leadership and policy experts, and enjoy a rich opportunity to grow their networks. The programme was developed as a response to the needs of nurse leaders as change agents, who are required to engage with and shape policy to meet increasing international health challenges.

The International Council of Nurses (ICN) is a federation of more than 130 national nurses associations representing the millions of nurses worldwide.
