Animal rights group speaks out against leading health charities

Thursday 23 June 2011

An animal rights group is urging the public not to donate to four of the UK's leading health charities. Animal Aid has placed adverts in British newspapers attacking Cancer Research UK, the British Heart Foundation, Parkinson's UK and the Alzheimer's Society. Animal Aid claims that these charities are torturing animals needlessly in the name of medical research. A Cancer Research UK statement said research using animals was an "unavoidable part of our efforts to beat cancer".
