7-11 July 2015, Vancouver, Canada
The International Conference on Cancer Nursing (ICCN) is the longest-running international conference for cancer nurses. It is organised by the International Society of Nurses in Cancer Care (ISNCC).
EONS Executive Board Member (Research), Andreas Charalambous and EONS CEO Clair Watts both attended this event. Overall, there were 400 people attending, coming from America, Asia, Europe and Australia.

This year the emphasis was on research in the field of oncology nursing, and presenters had the opportunity to present research findings on various topics. These included supportive care of patients, models of care delivery, cancer patients’ experiences, palliative and end-of-life care, survivorship and integrative medicine, to mention just a few.
The conference was a great chance for EONS representatives to network with people from other organisations.

EONS and ISNCC held a joint plenary entitled Patient and Public Involvement in Cancer Research. Theresa Wiseman and Sema Erdem discussed the topic from the perspective of the researcher/clinician and the patient respectively.
EONS also had its own information booth, where nurses could find out more about EONS and receive complimentary material about our organisation.
ICCN used to take place every other year, but it has now moved to an annual schedule, so ICCN 2015 was the first ICCN to take place a year rather than two years after the previous one. The organisers judged this first test of the new annual schedule to be a success. The next ISNCC conference will be held in 4-8 September 2016 in Hong Kong, China.
