"Safety switch"™ resolves GVHD

Research published in the New England Journal of Medicine has come up with a way of fighting graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), in which transplanted marrow or stem cells attack the recipient's body. Researchers incorporated a transgenic "safety switch"™ in the donor cells, which would be activated when symptoms of GVHD developed in the recipient.
