About accreditation

One of the Society's most important educational activities is the accreditation of continuing education courses. The aim of the EONS accreditation team is to improve the quality of continuing education courses offered to cancer nurses throughout Europe and to provide a mark of professional recognition. This year accreditation has been updated in line with the EU Bologna agreement and the widening range of educational events and programmes that nurses attend. To help those completing the forms a help guide has been developed, FaCET: Facilitating Cancer Education and Training, which provides information and resources for developing cancer educational courses.

Accreditation forms have been developed for:

  • Educational programme of study: defined as no less than 40 hours of educational study and this may be made up of several smaller modules or delivered as an integrated programme of academic study
    >> Download application form

  • Educational event: defined as the provision of a scientific meeting, conference, course, workshop or satellite symposium of no more than 40 hours educational study
    >> Download application form

  • Educational resource for patients: defined as health promotion or education materials aimed at either cancer prevention or supportive and palliative care
    >> Download application form

  • Distance learning educational programme: defined as education provided remotely using published materials including print, Web or CD-Rom resources
