EONS Executive Board elections 2019

First election round EONS Executive Board: results now available!

The deadline for the EONS full members to submit votes to fill three positions (President-Elect/2 Board members) on the EONS Executive Board was Wednesday 12 June 2019.

The following persons have put forward their candidacy for the open positions:

President Elect:

  • Johan de Munter (Belgium)

Board Member:

  • Rosario Caruso (Italy)
  • Gaby Knötgen (Germany)
  • Sulosaari Virpi (Finland)

Board Member Young Cancer Nurse:

  • Laura Bascuñana Sánchez (Spain)
  • Silvia Belloni (Italy)
  • Amanda Drury (Ireland)
  • Kathell Geraghty (Ireland)
  • Malin Viklander (Sweden)

As a result of the voting process, Johan de Munter has been elected as EONS President-Elect, Gaby Knötgen has been elected as EONS Board member and Amanda Drury has been elected as EONS Board member Young Cancer Nurse.

The election results will now move forward to the General Meeting for member approval. The EONS membership will confirm the result and the appointments at the EONS General Meeting on Friday 27 September at the start of the EONS12 Congress which will take place during the ESMO 2019 Congress, Barcelona, Spain (27 September-1 October). Once confirmed, the President-Elect and Executive Board Members will immediately take up post for their terms of office until September 2021. At that time the President-Elect will become President for a period of two years, then Past President for a period of two years. The exact timing of the meeting will be communicated in due course.

Second election round EONS Executive Board Elections (Board Member): call for nominations now open!

The EONS Executive Board has agreed to launch a second election process to identify a Board Member for the Society.

The timing of this second election process has been scheduled to allow candidates who were unsuccessful in the first election round to resubmit their nomination form to the second call for the role of Board Member.

EONS full members (i.e. individual members and National Oncology Nursing Society members) are now invited to provide nominations for the role of Executive Board Member.

If you have provided EONS with an email address, you should have received the call for nominations with the nomination form, role description and the second election process by email. These are available in the Further Information section of this page as well. The deadline for the receipt of fully completed, signed nomination forms by the EONS Secretariat is Thursday 15 August 2019, 12.00 CET.

Results of the second round of elections to EONS Executive Board

As a result of the voting process, Johan de Munter has been elected as a new EONS Board member.

EONS wholeheartedly congratulates Johan and looks forward to welcoming him to future Executive Board meetings.

The election results will now move forward to the EONS General Meeting for member approval. This will take place on Sunday morning 19 November from 09.10-10.30, before the EONS Advisory Council meeting/ Leadership Summit in Ede, the Netherlands.

Four nominations were received for the Board member role:

Andreas Charalambous has been elected as EONS President-Elect and Wendy Oldenmenger has been elected as EONS Board Member.

The election results will now move forward to the EONS General Meeting for member approval. This meeting is scheduled to take place on the morning of Sunday 19 November, before the EONS Advisory Council meeting/Leadership Summit in Ede, The Netherlands. (The exact time of the meeting will be communicated in due course.)

EONS EXECUTIVE BOARD ELECTIONS 2015

The second EONS Board election of 2015 was to elect a new Board member with responsibility for Education. Voting closed in August 2015.

First election of 2015: results

The first EONS Board election of 2015 was to elect a new President-Elect and Board Secretary. Voting took place in May and June 2015.
