Pigs could be used to grow human organs for transplant

Researchers have found that it is possible to inject stem cells from one species into the embryo of another species, creating animals with organs belonging to other species. The research was done on mice and rats, but the Tokyo researchers say that it leaves open the possibility that pigs could one day be used to grow human organs.
