Public optimistic about cancer

People are optimistic about their chances of surviving cancer, according to a study carried out in six wealthy countries. 48% of those polled in the USA, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the UK said that they do not believe cancer always leads to death. Respondents were also likely to optimistically underestimate the time and cost involved in bringing a new cancer drug to market.
