Why do nurses choose palliative care?

An article from the UK's Guardian newspaper asks why nurses choose to specialise in palliative care, and argues that palliative care is a way of getting back in touch with the "art of nursing" after time spent with too much focus on technology. The article also suggests that nurses who go into palliative care tend to be more experienced, with strong communication skills.
