Health research has high value to EONS as it can provide important information about different fields of medical specialties regarding primary, secondary and tertiary health care. EONS:
- Believes that research is essential to enhancing the quality and delivery of evidence based cancer care for nurses, patients, families and caregivers across Europe.
- Supports a range of research initiatives to ensure that the practice of European cancer nurses is informed by the most rigorous and up to date and evidence available.
- Aims to ensure that the profile of oncology nursing research is increased throughout Europe and encourages practitioners to be research-active, by providing support in funding, mentoring, publication and dissemination of results.
Information about EONS research activities and priorities is available on the following subcategories. EONS has an active Research Working Group, which aims to provide a forum through which research expertise can be shared, in order to support and develop research capacity and capability in EONS members.
The European Journal of Oncology Nursing (EJON) is the official journal of EONS, which is published five times a year.
