Invitation to Host ECND 2026

EONS organises the European Cancer Nursing Day (ECND) every year on 18 May, celebrating the invaluable contributions of cancer nurses across Europe.

ECND is a platform to:

  • Raise awareness about the challenges and opportunities in cancer nursing.
  • Foster collaboration among healthcare professionals, policymakers, and the public.
  • Advocate for policies that support nurses’ well-being, professional development, and contributions to research.

Call for Host Societies – ECND 2026

Preparations for ECND 2026 are officially underway! We invite National Member Oncology Nursing Societies to apply to host and organise this important event in collaboration with the EONS ECND Task Group.

Hosting Requirements

National Oncology Nursing Societies may propose up to two potential host destinations in their country. Each proposed destination should offer:

  • Easy access (air, rail, and road).
  • Sufficient hotel accommodation (minimum 80 rooms).
  • A venue (convention hotel or university) with capacity for at least five EONS Working Group meetings.

The in-person ECND event (1 day) will take place between 15–17 May 2026. ECND may also be organised alongside your society’s own national event (e.g. annual conference).

Host Society Responsibilities

The host society should nominate a Local National Society Representative as the primary contact for EONS.

Expressions of interest should include:

  • Your motivation for hosting ECND 2026.
  • The rationale for selecting your proposed city/region, including opportunities to engage with the profession at local and national levels and to create synergies with your national congress.
  • The anticipated level of local participation and support, including:
    • Organisation of social events (in collaboration with local authorities).
    • Engagement with exhibitors and sponsors.
