The final day of EONS18, held within the ESMO Congress 2025 in Berlin, brought the conference to a powerful close,celebrating the progress, compassion, and leadership that define oncology nursing.
The day featured impactful sessions on precision oncology, palliative and end-of-life care, rehabilitation and survivorship, and nursing in difficult circumstances. Thought-provoking presentations explored themes such as adherence in breast cancer care, nurse-led innovations in metastatic colorectal cancer, and the role of nurses in supporting patients’ psychological and physical well-being across the cancer journey.
Collaborations with ISNCC and ESMO shed light on global nursing challenges and the mental health of healthcare professionals, while discussions on cryotherapy and chemotherapy-induced side-effect management highlighted the importance of evidence-based nursing interventions.
The conference concluded with the EONS18 Closing Session, led by Helena Ullgren, celebrating key achievements, the Poster Award, and the announcement of European Cancer Nursing Day 2025 (ECND25).
EONS18 once again reaffirmed the central role of cancer nurses in advancing care, fostering innovation, and bridging the gap between science and humanity.
